5 Day Gorilla, Chimpanzee, Wildlife Uganda Safari

Day 1 : Pick Up from Kampala, transfer to Kibale National Park. 

Meal Plan/ Accommodation; Kibale Home Stay, Meal Plan: Breakfast,Lunch, Dinner.

You will be picked up from your place of accommodation at 07:00am by our representative, your driver/guide who will get you briefed about the safari. Depending on your arrival time, drive to Kibale national park, Fort Portal, passing via Mityana-Mubende road. Have lunch en-route and continue to Kibale forest national park, arriving late afternoon, check in to the service of your accommodation. You will go for an afternoon nature walk at Bigodi wetland which is a community based project and this normally takes about 2 – 3 hours. You come back to lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 2 : Chimpanzee Trekking and Bigodi Swamp Walk

Meal Plan/ Accommodation; Bush lodge, Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

After early morning breakfast you go to this great Park which is said to have the greatest variety of primates in East Africa, for Chimpanzee trekking. Among the primates found in this forest are the black and white colobus monkeys, grey cheeked mangabey, and red tailed monkeys. Then in the afternoon after lunch, we will transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park, driving along the foothills of the shadows of the magical “mountains of the moon” -Rwenzori. Arriving in the evening and check in to the service of our accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 : Queen Elizabeth – Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest

Meal Plan/ Accommodation; Gorilla Mist Camp Ruhija, Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

After an early breakfast, embark on a game drive to the Ishasha plains for the resident tree climbing lions plus a diversity of wildlife. The landscape in this sector is unique compared to that in other parts of Queen Elizabeth national park. It’s breathtaking seeing these lions lazily resting on tree branches targeting their prey. In the afternoon, we then transfer to Bwindi National Park with lunch en- route.

Day 4 : Bwindi Impenetrable Forest (Gorilla Trekking)  

Meal Plan/ Accommodation; Gorilla Mist Camp Ruhija, Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner.

After an early breakfast, we proceed to the park offices for registration and briefing before starting the highlight of our activities; the Gorilla trekking. Encountering the largest and heaviest primates is an adventurous and memorable activity which can’t be easily erased on your mind. Tracking from Bwindi sometimes involves walking up steep densely forested hills; therefore some fitness may be required. It may take 3-8 hours under muddy and strenuous conditions, sometimes with rain overhead. But all these conditions cease to be a challenge the moment you come face to face with the amazing mountain gorilla. We come back to our accommodation, dinner and overnight.

Day 5 : Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Entebbe 

Meal Plan/ Accommodation; No accommodation, Meal plan: Breakfast, Lunch.

After breakfast we drive back to Entebbe, with stopovers/ breaks at Kabale and Mbarara, lunch en-route. We also have a stopover at the Equator for the water experiment and look at the craft shops. We later proceed on to Entebbe and check into your place of accommodation or drive straight to the Airport for your flight home.

That will be the end of our 5 day Uganda Gorilla and wildlife safari.
